The Unit provides complete diagnostic and therapeutic services to  infertille couples and provides  a thorough medical management with the use of all current available techniques.

The laboratory  provides the following investigations related to male infertility and sub fertility such as:
•    Semen analysis
•    Diagnostic and therapeutic semen activation
•    DNA fragmentation

Also in the frame of therapeutic techniques of assisted reproduction  the following services are provied:

    Intra-Uterine Insemination (IUI)

    Ovarian stimulation


•    In vitro fertilization (IVF):

1.Control of ovarian stimulation for multiple follicular development in association with serial ultrasound assessment.  The above is also provided to women out of IVF programms.

2.Oocyte retrieval.

3.Fertilization of collected oocytes with spermatozoa either from semen of the husband (homologous ) or from donor  (heterologous).

•    ICSI (Intra-Cytoplasmic Sperm Injection): Direct insemination of a single spermatozoon in to the cytoplasm of  a mature oocyte using a pipette. This method is usually offered to couples with severe male infertility.

• Cryopreservation of embryos.

• Cryopreservation of semen and testicular tissue.
